Conrad Abbott
Guitar

Conrad Abbott was born in North Andover, Massachusetts on July 20, 1987 and in winter of 1993 moved to Cobb County, Georgia. Soon after that he began piano lessons with his aunt Susan Fortner who is an accomplished classical piano player/composer. For the

next few years he held his interest with piano and sang in the church choir but it wasn't until he picked up the guitar during his freshman year of high school where his musical interest really took off.

Throughout his high school years he played in various bands, including the McEachern High School Advanced Jazz Ensemble and studied with many local guitar instructors. He studied under veteran guitar player, and audio engineer Tom Race where he learned more about music theory, reading music for the guitar, and recording in the studio. In his senior year of high school, Tom Race recommended that Conrad further his education at a professional music school, and that's when he began studying classical guitar, jazz, and bluegrass styles at the Buckhead School of Music and Arts with classical guitar guru and mandolin player Jon Hill.

In September of 07 Conrad graduated with honors form the Atlanta Institute of Music under a staff of professional musicians and recording artists such as Nate Driscoll, Randy Hoexter, Trey Wright, Steve Reick, and Rob Schumman.

Currently Conrad is in pursuit of a bachelor's degree in music for Jazz Guitar Performance at Kennesaw State University. In addition to teaching Guitar he is currently playing in rock and jazz situations and playing in the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church praise band where he plays electric guitar and solo finger style pieces.
