high school years in addition to playing orchestral music Stephanie performed in bands playing various instruments including cello, banjo, flute and clarinet. She always new music was her “thing”, because she loved to practice. During College Stephanie was encouraged by her Violin teacher to start teaching. She became a certified Suzuki teacher, and taught throughout her college years at a local music store. Stephanie played for the GA Philharmonic. She played violin with them for four years and served as Secretary of their Board of Directors. Stephanie also played viola with the Rome Symphony and violin with a chamber orchestra called Da Salo Solisti. Though Stephanie plays a lot of classical music, she spends a lot of time playing in jazz, fusion, country/bluegrass, and rock styles. Stephanie believes that while producing good tone is the most important part of playing the violin or viola, it’s also important to understand theory and music as expression so you can create your own music and play along with others. In addition to teaching and performing, Stephanie enjoys working on theater productions in and around the Atlanta Metro Area. |
