Clay Hilley
Voice / Piano

Vocalist/Pianist Clay Hilley received the Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from the University of Georgia, where he double-majored in voice and piano. Studying with Dr. Martha Thomas, he performed and placed in several competitions hosted by both the Music

Teachers National Association and the Georgia Music Educators Association. Also at the University of Georgia he performed three major solo recitals and accompanied numerous vocal and instrumental recitals.

Clay taught himself the basics of piano before beginning formal training at age nine. From that age until he enrolled in the University of Georgia, he enjoyed countless opportunities to play piano for church services, banquets, weddings, and other events.

He has musically-directed and accompanied many musicals and concerts for the Athens Creative Theater, Athens Academy, Athens Christian School, Herd’s Ferry Elementary School, Jackson County High School, Parkview High School, and Winder-Barrow Middle School. Clay has also served as rehearsal accompanist for the Georgia Children’s Chorus and the Athens Choral Society.

Currently a staff accompanist for Georgia State University, where he is pursuing his Master of Music degree in vocal performance, his duties include accompanying and coaching undergraduate voice majors and choral ensembles. Recently he was selected to accompany the Georgia State University Singers—the school’s top choral ensemble—for the coming 2006-2007 school year.
