Doug Kim
Saxophone / Piano / Clarinet

Doug grew up in Racine, Wisconsin. Since beginning piano at age four, he has been active in music all his life. An accomplished saxophonist, pianist, and worship leader, he has played with the UW-Milwaukee Youth Jazz Ensemble, Ernie Watts, Randy Sabien,

the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Jazz Orchestra, Southern Methodist University Jazz Orchestra, Ben Harlan, University of West Georgia Jazz Ensemble, and Kenny Copeland. He has lead corporate worship in Wisconsin, Illinois, Texas, Alabama, and Georgia. Current musical projects include playing keyboard for Damascus Road.

Upon graduating from the University of North Texas, he freelanced and taught in the Dallas/ Metroplex area. He is on the faculty at Youth Christian School (Powder Springs, GA) where he teaches Spanish and music. In addition to his teaching duties, he is also the Youth Pastor at Sharon Baptist Church.

His teaching philosophy can be summed up in one word- "Time." In order to watch a student grow, one must give of their time. This includes, but is not limited to spending extra time with students, taking the time to listen, making time for students, being patient and allowing the student to have time to grow, and much more.

During his moments of leisure, he can be found at the gym, on the basketball court, skating, or playing music.
