Jason Passmore
Saxophone/Clarinet/Flute

Since 1993, Jason has played in various ensemble and groups in Atlanta. He has shared the stage or recorded with many local, national and international artists. He's performed with Speech of Arrested Development, Lizz Wright, Chris Potter, Scott Wendholt, Michael Abene,

 

Ronnie Cuber and many others. Locally, Jason has performed in the majority of the clubs and festivals in Atlanta, including the Atlanta Jazz Festival (1998-2005, various groups) and the Atlanta Montreau Music festival. He has had the opportunity to perform in various Latin, R&B, rock and electronic bands. Jason has performed in various chamber groups, including theatre productions of "Groucho Marx" and "A Grand Night for Singing". He has also performed with the Cobb and Rome Symphony Orchestras.

Jason received his Bachelors and Masters of Music from Georgia State University in 1998 and 2000. He studied saxophone and flute with accomplished Atlanta saxophonist Sam Skelton and Robert Haley. Jason studied jazz with Gordon Vernick, Gary Motley and other local jazz artists. He also studied clarinet with Les Nichols. Currently, Jason is a music specialist with the Cobb County Public School System and with Prodigy After-School of the Arts. He is also the owner of JPASS Music, a production company that specializes in music for film/television and the production of music for other media services. It is also an outlet for Jason to produce and record his original music and music for other artists.

Through JPASS Music, he is working on two releases: A traditional jazz CD and a New Age CD. He is also working on a saxophone instructional website and book series.
