by the time she began her formal training at the University of Georgia, she had already been in several musicals, concerts, honors choirs, and competitions, including the Georgia Music Educator's Association (GMEA) All State Chorus and the Georgia Literary Meet Competition. Once in college, she focused on her classical training, and it led her to participate in productions of Puccini’s La Bohéme and Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, among others. Now a senior at vocal performance major at Kennesaw State University, Jessica has been a member of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus, has been featured as a soloist in the Kennesaw State University Chamber Singers, and has performed many operatic roles in her university's Opera Scenes productions. She most recently won first place in the Georgia division of the National Associate of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Competition. She is currently a staff soprano at her church, and loves teaching students of all ages how to vocally express their love of music. Jessica will be graduating this year with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, and plans to pursue graduate studies in Opera Performance. |
