Katie Atkinson
Piano, Flute, Saxpphone, Music Ed.

Katie Atkinson has studied music for 20 years. She attained a BM in music education degree at Wayne State University, Detroit MI, as well as studying flute performance. Her love for several styles of music and instruments has inspired to continue her studies in piano, guitar, and saxophone.

Katie has 13 years of teaching experience and has been a certified

band and general music director for 5 years. She has played in over 20 different bands and orchestras. She is experienced in classical, jazz / blues, rock, and contemporary Christian music.

Katie teaches group and individual lessons in piano, flute, saxophone, and beginner acoustic guitar. She also teaches a number of fun children’s choirs, complete with modern musical themes, moves, and costumes. She encourages her students to have correct technique, reading skills, and music theory knowledge while striving to be sure that they enjoy music.
