Rand Lines
Guitar / Piano

Rand Lines began his musical pursuits shortly after birth as he was constantly surrounded by great musicians. Starting as a self taught musician he later began formal studies in classical piano and jazz guitar at the University of Georgia in Athens Georgia At UGA, Rand was

 

an active member in numerous ensembles such as The University Chorus, Concert Choir, The UGA Jazz Band, and The UGA Jazz Combos. Rand holds a B.A. in Italian studies from UGA and speaks both Italian and Spanish with which he has traveled Italy, Spain, and Latin America continuing his musical education. In 2005, Rand studied jazz improvisation at the Taller de Músics Escola de Musica in Barcelona, Spain.

He can be found performing almost every day of the week in a wide variety of musical venues. Rand regularly works as a classical accompanist, jazz pianist/guitarist, composer, church accompanist, teacher, and a member of various rock groups. In Athens Georgia, he leads and composes music for the Rand Lines Trio, a jazz trio for which he plays both piano and guitar. He is also the leader of a jazz group called the Ramekins and performs regularly with local groups such as Freeze Tag, The Pendletons, The Natalie Dickerson Quintet and Little Francis. Rand is adept in all kinds of musical situations and is continually seeking opportunites to grow as a musician.
