have a career in music. Throughout high school I took advantage of every performing opportunity I could from lead roles in musical theater to playing guitar and keyboards in my own rock bands. I received my undergraduate degree from the State University of New York College at Fredonia. There I studied both Music Education and Piano Performance under the instruction of world touring concert pianist, Mr. Robert Jordan. I received several scholarships including the Elizabeth S. Carlyon Piano Performance Scholarship and the Bromeley Piano Performance Scholarship. I was the winner of the 1998 concerto competition, getting to perform the third movement of Tschaikovski’s First Piano Concerto with symphony orchestra. I was also inducted into the International Honor Society for Educators, Kappa Delta Pi. To this date, I have over fourteen years experience teaching piano, guitar, and voice lessons. I was the music director at a children’s camp in the Adirondack Mountains for two summers. I have performed at various churches, community events, clubs, schools, and formal concerts. I was also a public school music teacher in Upstate New York for five years where I taught grades one through twelve. Upon completion of my Master’s Degree in Music Technology from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis in the spring of 2005, I moved to the Atlanta area to further my music career. You can hear my original compositions played in retail electronic and appliance stores across the U.S. as supporting music to the videos played on the wall of TVs. When I’m not teaching music lessons, I spend my time playing in the band "Moby Dick," designing websites (including “Lessons In Your Home.net"), writing new music, doing sound design for commercials, as well as audio production, video production, and instructional multimedia design. |
